Remanufacture vs Rebuild

The Difference

The difference between remanufacturing and rebuilding a component can be confusing; however, it is important to understand the difference and to know what you are getting.

Rebuilding involves taking the failed component and cleaning or replacing the part or parts that have failed. Only parts that have to be replaced are typically replaced.

Remanufacturing, however, is much more involved so that the component is as close to new as possible. Every part that has any potential wear is replaced to bring the engine back to its originally designed state. This is what National Transmission does. We remanufacture. And we do it to the highest of standards.
